Amsterdam's inland waterway management
The Inland Waterway Management Service (BBA) is a municipal organisation. The BBA operates the bridges, locks and water-retaining structures in Amsterdam. Additionally, it levies and collects port dues on behalf of the pleasure boating and professional shipping sector, and issues permits for houseboats and events on the water. For more information and the tariffs, please click here (information in dutch).
Thanks to the Port Community System, the days when companies had to develop and maintain a whole range of bilateral connections are over. All the information exchange in the ports now runs efficiently through a single hub. The services available in the Port Community System provide concrete savings in time and money from day one. Please find more information on Portbase at www.portbase.com.
