Edwin de Vries new Manager Business Development at Ter Haak Group

Press release by Ter Haak Group. The Ter Haak Group has appointed Edwin de Vries as Manager Business Development. He will take up his position on 1 November 2009 and be responsible for the further expansion of the Ter Haak Group’s portfolio.

"De Vries’ knowledge of the entire logistics process, his commercial talent and his international network will allow us to further develop the activities of the Ter Haak Group. He will reinforce the current focus on strengthening our position in the north of the Netherlands and Germany.”

Thanks to its renowned flexibility, the Ter Haak Group continues to perform well despite the downturn. By shifting its main focus to Europe where there is an increasing demand for transhipment services, the Ter Haak Group hopes to increase its turnover. The company always aims to find the best concepts and create supply chain benefits for clients. This requires alertness, creativity and an entrepreneurial spirit – all characteristics that are shared by Edwin de Vries, who will use them to further expand the market area of the Amsterdam company.

De Vries gained his experience in value added logistics, forwarding and stevedoring at several companies, including starch product manufacturer Avebe and transporter Vos, which merged with the De Vries Transport Group in 2007. At the Ter Haak Group he will have the opportunity to fulfil his ambition of developing and stimulating the use of multimodal applications in transport and transhipment companies. And the informal character of the family business means De Vries will be entirely in his element at the Ter Haak Group.
